During the 1999 Colorado legislative session, Andi Leopoldus met Camp To Belong Founder Lynn Price. Together, they worked to pass legislation which required siblings to be placed together in foster care and adoption, unless it would be detrimental to the children. Since that time, Leopoldus has made various presentations to CTB and three years ago, she joined the Board serving as an at-large member and participating on the Finance/Fundraising committee.
Andi Leopoldus has been a lobbyist since 1983. After her son was diagnosed with insulin dependent diabetes, she started as a volunteer, lobbying in Washington, D.C. on behalf of diabetes research. In 1988, she started lobbying at the Colorado Legislature representing providers to people with developmental disabilities.
During the 1997 session, Leopoldus branched out as a contract lobbyist for CASA and several child serving agencies. All of her clients are in health and human services.
