Foster siblings reunite for week of s’mores and campfire stories
Camp To Belong provides a lifetime of memories for youth in foster care

MARANA, AZ. (February 9, 2010) – Camp To Belong (CTB), an international non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to reuniting siblings placed in separate foster, adoptive or kinship homes has been actively reuniting brothers and sisters through summer camp programs and year round events for the past 15 years. This year, seven camps across the nation and an international chapter in Australia will serve over 600 youth who will spend an exciting week of new adventures while empowering each individual camper and strengthening sibling connections.

Campers’ days are filled with energetic activities such as swimming, canoeing, challenge courses, hiking and archery with the key being the shared experience with their siblings. In addition to healthy activities during the day, the siblings participate in other activities such as arts and crafts, while nights are filled with bonfires and inspirational exercises.

“In foster care, the majority of sibling groups are separated by the system, with each child placed in a different home,” shares Camp To Belong Executive Director Sherry Brock. “Thanks to Camp To Belong, we can help preserve these critical relationships while helping to build a lifetime of memories that can never be taken away.”

Camp To Belong is headquartered in Tucson, Arizona and accepts applicants for campers and volunteer counselors from all over the country. Thanks to donations from individuals and the support of corporations, service organizations, foundations, and grants, Camp To Belong’s outreach continues to grow.
